Method of Compression

The binder is made of elastic fabric on the front and back and does not use a non-stretch panel to achieve compression. The strength of the elastic varies from high compression to low compression in all-elastic binders. All-Elastic Compression
The binder's back panel is made of a lower compression/higher stretch fabric than the front panel. Both all-elastic and non-stretch panel compression may have lower compression rear panels. Lower Compression Rear Panel
The binder uses a non-elastic fabric panel on the front of the binder to achieve compression. This provides a flattening effect without exerting pressure around the entire ribcage. This form of compression puts more compressive force into the sternum and less compressive force to the sides of the ribcage than all-elastic compression. No-Stretch Front Compression Panel

Garment Styles

A tank that ends at the mid-belly but is not long enough to tuck into your pants. I recommend this option if your tissue bulges out from the bottom of a 1/2 tank. Full-length Tank
A tank that ends a few inches below the bottom of your chest tissue. People with larger chests may find that their tissue bulges out the bottom Half-length Tank
A tank that can be tucked into the pants which can be helpful for people who want more body contouring or people who are experiencing their full-length binder rolling up. If keeping the binder down is still a challenge, shirt stays can be used for extra support. Tuckable Tank
Racerback tanks allow for the greatest motion of the scapula and are recommended whenever you are doing activities that demand significant shoulder movement. The straps of a racerback can exert more pressure onto the upper traps and neck muscles and can trigger headaches in some people. Racerback Tank
These styles are able to be worn with lower cut shirts and open button downs without being visible. V-Neck/Low Neckline

GC2B

gc2b.co

Founded in 2015, gc2b is a trans-owned company based in Maryland. gc2b’s founder, CEO, and designer—a Black and Latinx trans man—saw that the only binding options were uncomfortable and inadequate compression shirts designed for cis men. As an Industrial Design graduate, he used his experience in product design and his background in textiles to provide accessible, comfortable, and safer binding options designed by trans people, for trans people. gc2b binders were the first garments designed and patented specifically for gender-affirming chest binding.

Method of Compression
